AI Desktop Pet

Please read this End User License Agreement (the "Agreement") carefully before using AI Desktop Pet (the "Software"). By installing, copying, or otherwise using the Software, you acknowledge that you have read and understood this Agreement and agree to be bound by its terms. This Agreement applies in addition to the Steam Subscriber Agreement; in case of conflict, the specific terms of this Agreement governing the Software's functionality, data handling, and third-party components shall prevail.

1. License Grant

42kami (the "Developer", "we", "us") grants you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to install and use the Software, lawfully obtained through Steam, on personal computers that you own or control, for personal or commercial purposes, subject to all terms of this Agreement.

2. AI-Generated Content Disclaimer

The Software includes local AI features (large language model inference, text-to-speech, speech recognition). All AI computation is performed locally on your device; no conversation or audio data is sent to any remote server by the Software.

  • (a) AI-generated text and speech outputs are produced by machine learning models and may contain inaccurate, erroneous, outdated, offensive, or otherwise inappropriate content.
  • (b) You are solely responsible for reviewing, adopting, and disseminating any AI-generated content.
  • (c) We make no warranty as to the accuracy, completeness, reliability, or fitness of any AI-generated output for any particular purpose.
  • (d) AI-generated content does not represent the views or opinions of the Developer.

3. Privacy & Data

  • (a) The Software's core functionality operates entirely offline; no internet connection is required.
  • (b) The Software does not actively collect, transmit, or upload any personal data, conversation history, voice recordings, or usage telemetry to any server controlled by the Developer. The Developer does not operate any cloud service for receiving user data.
  • (c) All user data (conversations, settings, custom models, character cards) is stored locally in the Electron userData directory on your device and remains under your sole control. You may access this directory at any time via the in-app "Open Data Directory" button, or delete the directory to completely remove all local data.
  • (d) Microphone permission: when you enable voice input, the Software accesses your local microphone via the operating system to perform speech recognition. All audio is processed locally and discarded immediately after recognition; nothing is stored or uploaded.
  • (e) Steam integration: when you use Steam Workshop, achievements, or other Steam features, the relevant data is handled by the Steam client in accordance with Valve's Privacy Policy. The Developer cannot access your Steam account information.
  • (f) Updates are distributed exclusively through the Steam platform; the Software contains no separate auto-update or telemetry component.

4. Live2D Cubism SDK — Mandatory Notice

This Software incorporates the Live2D Cubism SDK pursuant to the Live2D Publication License Agreement (Expandable Applications EX-2.0 plan). Copyright in the Live2D Cubism SDK is held by Live2D Inc.

  • (a) Trademark Notice: "Live2D" and "Live2D Cubism" are registered trademarks of Live2D Inc. in Japan and other jurisdictions. Any reference to these trademarks in the Software is solely for identifying the source of the integrated SDK and does not imply endorsement or partnership by Live2D Inc.
  • (b) Expandable Application Designation: The Software is licensed under the Expandable Applications EX-2.0 plan of the Live2D Publication License Agreement. This designation is conspicuously displayed in this Agreement, the in-app "About" page, and the Steam store page for the Software.
  • (c) Statement Required by Live2D Inc. (verbatim):

This application contains Live2D Cubism SDK developed by Live2D Inc. of which the copyrights are held by Live2D Inc. If this application is utilized as a primary element of a business and its annual sales made directly or indirectly by this application or content produced by this application exceed 20 million JPY, you shall be obliged to execute Publication License Agreement with Live2D Inc. and pay required license fee. You shall also be obliged to immediately notify Live2D Inc. when the annual sales exceed 20 million JPY. Any violation of these obligations means the utilization of Live2D Cubism SDK beyond the scope permitted by Live2D Inc. with regard to this application and the infringement of intellectual property rights of Live2D Inc., and you may receive legal claims from Live2D Inc.

Note: "Utilizing this application as a primary element of a business" includes but is not limited to operating a VTuber streaming business. It does not include streaming video contents for sales promotion.
